This hens party checklist will help you create the perfect party for the bride-to-be! There are always so many things to remember when a wedding is nearby, so keep a copy of this checklist and check it off as you go to ensure your hens party runs smoothly.
- Invite List:
A hens party is usually left up to the maid of honour to organise, however when it comes to inviting the guests, she may need a little help from the bride-to-be on this one. Should everyone including the ‘party diva’ best friend to the bride’s grandmother in-law be invited? Probably not.
Choosing the guest list should really be up to the bride and whether or not she’d like everyone in the same room socialising. So when planning the invite list, it’s best to invite the girls you know will have a great time doing whatever the bride has planned to do.
Sometimes the bride might just invite their mothers and aunties to the more appropriate part of the day, such as a spa or dinner, with everyone else partying on after that.
- Plan Ahead:
Make sure the date of the hens night is at least one week before the big day. That way you have plenty of time to recover and feel fresh for the wedding. Be sure to plan the hens well in advance so you can get the number of guests and have time to book all of the entertainment for the night.
If booking male entertainment, be sure to also do this well in advance in order to choose the perfect guy/s for the night. Remember this event is all about the bride, so decide on a date that all of her best friends are able to attend.
- Location:
A hens night is the perfect excuse for some quality girl time, so location is important when setting the scene. If you’re deciding to hold a hens party at a house, apartment or hotel, make sure there is room for the girls to drink, dance and play games, as things could get messy in a smaller space! If it’s a night out on the town, do your research well in advance on the places to go and places to avoid.
- Plan Your Night and Let it Flow at the Same Time:
It’s always good to have a game plan to ensure the bride-to-be has the perfect day. However, ‘over planning’ and rushing from one activity to the other may take away the fun and time to catch up and gossip.
- Topless Waiters:
A topless waiter is the perfect addition to making sure a hens night runs smoothly. Topless waiters serve drinks and food, mix cocktails, plan and play games, and make sure all of your guests are having a great time and feel included.
Remember, they’ve been to many hens nights, and are the perfect resource if you feel like the party isn’t going the way you would like it to. Just tell the topless waiter and they will be able to lift the spirit up and turn things around in a second!
- Drinks:
Make sure you have all the drinks you will need for the night. Champagne, shots and cocktails are usually the party favourites. As long as there is enough drinks for the night, you can leave the rest up to the topless waiters. Be sure to also have some non-alcoholic drinks and ed pills too, just in case there are some non-drinkers at the event.
- Theme:
This should be something that the bride would really enjoy. If they’re a shy person or don’t enjoy dressing up, maybe a theme isn’t the best way to go. However, a theme is often a lot of fun and is a great ice breaker for the girls who may not know anybody there.
- Stripper:
Okay, so what do you think of when someone mentions a hens party? A stripper of course! This is always a great way to make the night an unforgettable one and is a lot of fun for all the guests.
Does the hen’s fiancé have a certain career or trade? Get the stripper to dress up in this theme to add some humour to the night!
